Freedom is Not for the Timid Thought for the Week of May 4, 2008

Dear Patriots,
   The United States of America is presently a socialist nation. When the federal government takes your money and redistributes it to others - that, my friends, is socialism. When the federal government controls the economy - that is socialism. When the federal government subsidizes industries and businesses that it favors and punishes those that is does not - that is socialism. When the federal government taxes you to fund and control families, education, medicine, police, roads, housing and every aspect of life from birth to grave - that is socialism. When the federal government assigns to you an identification number at birth - that is socialism. When the federal government taxes you to produce "public service announcements" designed to influence your thinking and behavior - that is socialism. When political parties control who has access to public office and when those political parties invent a way for those already in power to control who may succeed them in power - that is modern socialism. When the federal government regulates religion and is permitted to "subpoena" religious organizations' records - that is socialism. When a person's worth is measured by what they can contribute to "society" - that is socialism. When the purpose of public education is to "socialize" children - that is socialism.
    The tragedy today is that most Americans are fighting over different degrees of socialism, rather than fighting to restore America to a constitutional republic. (Most Americans do not even know that we are a republic, not a democracy). Please join me in educating Americans in the Principles of Liberty so that we, as a People, can restore our Republic.
    Although I have not been advertising my speaking engagements lately, I have been very busy speaking in Nevada, Georgia, Virginia, New Hampshire, Texas and Florida. I have been invited to speak in New Mexico. I have also been asked to return to Georgia and to Florida's Panhandle to speak in September for Constitution Week. I have been speaking to a wide variety of groups, including the Kiwanis, Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, Pachyderm Clubs and the National Association of Women Business Owners.
    I have received an overwhelmingly positive response from every group to which I have spoken. Most Americans feel as you do - they know that something is dreadfully wrong, but do not know what to do. I empower Americans with the knowledge to take back their government.
