"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie down the second with the chains of the Constitution so the second does not become the legalized version of the first."  - Thomas Jefferson.

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives." - James Madison.

Rebecca O'Dell TownsendDear Patriots,

As our Declaration of Independence explains, the only legitimate purpose of any government is to secure our God-given inalienable rights.  As our founding fathers explained, you cannot be ignorant and free. Yet, most Americans have no idea either the purpose of government or what their inalienable rights are.
Some of our inalienable rights are mentioned in the Declaration of Independence or in our U.S. Constitution.  Many are not.  Among our God-given inalienable rights not mentioned are: (1) the right to marry; (2) the right to beget children; and (3) the right to direct the upbringing and education of our children.
It should come as no surprise that our governments constantly attempt to intrude upon these rights.  Our founding fathers warned us that they would.  It also should come as no surprise that as Americans become more and more ignorant of their rights, our local, state and federal governments become more aggressive in violating those rights.  After all, our governments consist of equally ignorant Americans who do not perceive the threat that governments pose to liberty. Some Americans are even hostile toward the fundamental right of parents to direct the upbringing of their children.
Because of the current and increasing threat to parental rights, an organization called parentalrights.org has formed.  Parentalrights.org has drafted a proposed Parental Rights Amendment for our U.S. Constitution.  The amendment states in part that, "[t]he liberty of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children is a fundamental right."  I encourage you to visit their website to better understand the threat, the reasons for the threat, the proposed solution and what you can do to help.  www.parentalrights.org.
