"The
greatest tyrannies are always perpetrated in the name of the noblest causes."
- Thomas Paine.
"It is a precedent fraught
with danger for the country, for when Congress once begins to stretch its
power beyond the limits of the Constitution, there is no limit to it and
no security for the people... ... the Constitution, to be worth anything,
must be held sacred and rigidly observed in all its provisions." -- U.S.
Congressman Davy Crockett
Dear
Patriots,
The
federal funded textbook called
"We the People: the Citizens
and the
Constitution," reads:
"What advantages might be offered
by world citizenship?
What disadvantages? Do you
think that world citizenship will be possible in our lifetime?"
[p. 203]
In
this and in numerous parts of the National Standards on Civics and Government,
written
by the Center for Civic Education
(CCE) at
taxpayer expense, the federal funded
curriculum promotes global citizenship and global governance as being superior
to American citizenship and national sovereignty.
Congress
is now reauthorizing and amending No Child Left Behind with
1,036 pages of changes and additions
to the law to create a law far worse
than what we have today.
The proposal will expand the
reach of federally controlled civics. The
No Child Left Behind proposal
will pay states to replace their own civics
standards with the federal curriculum
standards, i.e., "international
curriculum standards."
"International
standards" are not about achievement. They are about
replacing course content with the
United Nation's educational program.
Currently, only the International
Baccalaureate (IB) program contains
completely international
standards. According to the IB website, IB teaches
the UN's "beliefs and values."
Every
participating school signs a contract which requires the school to teach
the UN's beliefs and values in
every
class.
Under
the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is presented as
superior to our "antiquated" Constitution
and Bill of Rights, there are no
God-given inalienable rights.
All rights espoused by the UDHR are ultimately subordinate to the "purposes
of the United Nations."
Every
child who is educated by international standards and the federal
curriculum is being indoctrinated
into global governance.
Congress
has no power under Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution to
fund or to control education.
We must end its illegal activities or we will no
longer be a free people because
our children will no longer understand the importance or price of
liberty.
Please
support EdWatch at www.edwatch.org and
write or call your
Congressmen today to oppose federal
involvement in education and
No Child Left Behind.
Let's roll, Patriots!
