The War For The Court Is A War For Our Children's Safety
This article is directed straight at the
parents and grandparents of America. The reason I'm so pointed at my audience
is because our children are in the middle of a war for their very souls.
The Lord tells us in Proverbs 22:6(KJV)"Train up a child in the way he
should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
It has never been a more important time for parents to "train up" their
children because danger lurks in every facet of their lives. Let us begin
with television: the two shows which just received the majority of this
year's Emmy nominations were "Will and Grace"(which portrays the gay lifestyle
as hip and cool and mocks heterosexuality) and "Desperate Housewives"(which
makes infidelity and sexual promiscuity look mainstream and traditional
families seem like a joke). The internet is even worse! The
material available for your children to see on the internet is truly evil.
Pornography is everywhere(and it is aimed directly at teens and pre-teens).
Pornographers design web-sites to make illicit behavior seem "safe and
fun" and make it easy for children to visit child-pornography web-sites.
And gambling on the web has become a huge activity for teenagers. There
have been some well-documented stories of high-school(and younger) children
creating and/or joining gambling web-sites and getting themselves into
serious financial trouble and becoming addicted. However there
is a way to fight back. First of all, parents must actively follow what
their children watch on T.V. and where they "surf" on the web. Being passive
is a recipe for disaster. Secondly, we must make sure that we elect people
who will put conservative judges on every "bench"(whether state or federal).
Call and/or write your Senator and let them know you want them to vote
for federal judges who will fight along side you against the social deviancy
on T.V. and the internet. Then call and/or write your state officials and
let them know you expect the same type of judiciary closer to home.
Remember, passivity is a sure way to failure. As the old saying goes: "the
best defense is a good offense." But more importantly, the Lord reminds
us that we can not lose when we're told in Psalm 60:12(KJV): "Through God
we shall do valiantly; for it is he that shall tread down our enemies."
