TITLE: Hollywood Is Attacking Traditional Marriages

 

    As someone who is happily married (in the true Biblical sense) it is clear that Hollywood is trying to destroy traditional marriages. Jesus clearly states in (KJV)Mark 10:6-9 that "from the beginning of creation God made them man and female, for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh; so that they are no more twain but one flesh, what therefore God has joined together let no man put asunder."  Specifically, Hollywood (and their liberal supporters) are attacking the institution of marriage by trying to make it "cool" for women to act in foolish and distasteful ways.

     For example, one of the most popular TV programs today is "Desperate Housewives." The show's basic premise is that middle-aged women have a lot of promiscuous sex and cheat on their husband's with younger men. We also can not forget HBO's "Sex and the City." It let us in on the escapades of four middle-aged women having sex (heterosexual and lesbian) almost non-stop. Finally, the entertainment industry has turned the internet into the easiest place to view or chat to "mother's and housewive's" offering a variety of services.

    But the Bible teaches us how to fight back!  In 1 Corinthians 7:3 we're told that "husbands should render unto their wives due benevolence and likewise the wife unto the husband." This is a reminder to all of us(men and women) that we should not let the sinful message of Hollywood divide us. In addition, Christian household's nationwide need to show our displeasure through actions not words. First of all, we should boycott shows like "Desperate Housewives" which glorify improper behavior by women in the home. Secondly, we should also push for the FCC to be more aggressive in preventing shows which attack the institution of marriage.

    Only by battling the Hollywood culture head on can we hope to protect our wives and preserve the sacrament of marriage!
